Description:

Coffre à documents de l'époque de Charles II, datant de 1660 à 1680 et originaire de la région des lacs en Angleterre.

Il est sculpté des initiales "I.B." et possède un couvercle à double planche bordé d'un moulage, qui ouvre sur un intérieur vide.
La frise avant est sculptée de quatre paires de têtes de fleurs reliées par des entrelacs de courroies, autour des initiales "I.B." sculptées au centre.
Le panneau de base est bordé d'une arête chanfreinée..
Bois de chêne sculpté.

A Charles II period document chest, dating from 1660 to 1680 and originating from the Lake District of England.
It is carved with the initials "I.B." and has a double boarded lid edged with moulding, which opens to an empty interior.
The front frieze is carved with four pairs of flower heads linked by interlacing straps, around the initials I.B." carved in the centre.
The base panel is edged with a chamfered edge.
